What color are you right now? How far can blackness stretch? Across a body? Across time? Dark Skinned Beings are solitary figures or animated objects sermonizing, eulogizing and questioning history - personal history, family history, world history. These beings are bodies in time/of time changing color in the light. If a being transformed right before your eyes, is its’ former self still real?  

Everyday Afroplay creates a framework for a theatrical exploration of blackness in short bursts. The directors who are breathing a little life into the first ever Everyday Afroplay Party are :  Anne Cecelia Haney, Dara Malina, Jolene Noelle, Kat Yen, Mitchel Civello, Shaun P Tubbs, and Tatiana Pandiani 

Readings are always at 8pm, and are always FREE!

The Starr Reading Series is a way for us to expand our community while
we celebrate and explore the plays of the city’s most exciting
playwrights. In four Seasons, we have featured the work of a diverse
group of writers at all stages of their careers who are approaching
writing for the theater in thrilling and unexpected ways.
